What we do.

We solve complex aviation and logistics-based problems.

We do it by thinking outside of the box, by leveraging our deep contact list of specialists and through effective project management.

Case Studies.

Of course, there’s a big difference between saying we can do something and actually doing it. Here are three examples where we’ve not only talked the talk but walked the walk.

Texel Air Boeing 737 FlexCombi™

In 2016, we realised that Texel Air’s B737 Classic fleet was aging. We needed a new platform to continue operations into the next decade. We also had a hunch that with some lateral thinking, we could fulfil an unmet need. Rather than simply adding more of the same to our existing set up, we started by speaking to our clients. We quickly realised that there wasn’t an existing combination or flexible platform that had been developed for a new generation aircraft. When our clients were looking for capacity the size of the 737 with flexible capabilities, the only options were to go for something based on older, out of production, larger aircraft or to split out cargo and passenger flights, essentially doubling costs.

So we started researching various aircraft platforms and reached out to design companies to find a suitable partner. We eventually identified the B737-700 as the most suitable choice based on its range, payload performance and suitability to niche markets. This tied in perfectly with PEMCO who at the time were looking for a launch customer for their B737NG P2F conversion line and so the FlexCombi™ concept was born.

We purchased a prototype base 737-700, then funded significant research, development and flight testing. As an active partner in the project, we worked closely with PEMCO until the aircraft received its FAA approval in July 2020. Soon after, we took delivery and placed the aircraft into commercial operations with Texel Air and got started on a second B737-700 FlexCombi™ to add to the fleet.

Runway repair.

Runways need upkeep to ensure they’re safe. Runways in remote locations and extreme environments even more so. Unfortunately, the more remote the location and extreme the environment, the less likely it is that standard maintenance operations can take place.

Our client, based in Africa, tasked us with finding a solution to their unique problem. Their runway was unusable and in reality, required a full rebuild for jet operations. But, due to a shortage of aggregate, an alternative solution had to be found. We located a bitumen binder that would overcome the aggregate issue and immediately put a team of experts together.

Sourcing a product and effectively applying it are two different things. We knew the clients’ remote location and the extreme heat needed serious consideration and would need people on board who understood both issues. We found our experts in Australia. With years of experience laying bitumen in very similar conditions and under similar circumstances, we flew the team over to Africa where they rolled out various tests to ensure the solution was fit for purpose.

This meant we were able to submit a report for full-scale application that was not only tested but approved by an experienced crew.

Transport.

Combine vehicles, equipment and personnel, all originating in different countries and a requirement for everything to arrive in one place at the same time and you know you’re going to need exceptional project management. In 2011 that’s exactly what we did.

Our client needed 14 armoured vehicles to be transported into the Middle East from North America for a training exercise. They also needed to transport specific equipment from Europe and personnel from the Levant, making sure that everything and everyone arrived at the right place at the right time.

By leveraging our own fleet and chartering aircraft to coordinate regional and intercontinental movement, we got everything where it needed to be and took care of everyone seamlessly. This included temporary secure storage of the vehicles between charter flights, as well as variety of landing, overflight as well as ramp access to ensure the safety of the cargo.

Once the exercise was completed, we transported everything and everyone back to their points of origin.

That’s what we do, now find out how we do it.
